Try our local small batch roasted Ethiopia Natural Suke Quto full of fall flavors!

Region: Suke Quto, Guji Zone
Process:  Dry (natural)
Roast: Light
Flavor Notes: milk chocolate, dark plum, toasted almonds, jammy apricot, sweet marshmallow

This is a delicious coffee with intense fruited flavors and aromatic notes of rich spices that reach peak levels of complexity in the cup.  The fruit flavors that come through are intensely sweet with a range of dark blum to ripe blueberries and jammy apricot. Toasted almonds came through when drinking the hot coffee along with chai spices, but as it cooled we got a fruity, smooth, juicy cup with a marshmallow creaminess.

This lot comes from a processing site called "Suke Quto", located just outside the town cof Suke, in Ethiopia's Guji Zone. It's worth noting that this is a pretty generic name, in that it's common practice to name your processing site after the nearest town. So there are several other "Suke Quto"s as well. This Suke Quto is owned by the Shonora family, who operate 8 different processing sites in Guji, all centered around their home town of Gerba just a few miles down the road. The family has been operating wet and dry process sites in this region for several decades, something started by the father, Shonora Gata, who is now 83. These days, the operations are managed by his four sons. Coffee is grown at an altitude range of 1800 - 2200 meters above sea level, and most of the farmers who deliver coffee to Suke Quto have less than 1 hectare of land planted in coffee. This lot stands out as being very aromatic, intensely sweet, and berry-forward. It's really a stunning dry process coffee!
